Challenge

Count.it presents itself as a transformative project in the Fitness and Health industry, driven by the goal of improving people's quality of life through health challenges. The challenge was twofold: to maintain and improve the Count. It Classic platform, ensuring seamless integration with health data providers such as Google Fit, Fitbit, Strava, and Garmin, while developing a new version, Count. It Journey, with expanded capabilities and new functionalities to encourage positive changes in lifestyle habits.

Solution

To meet these challenges, the team, initially composed of two developers, was expanded to include a Product Owner and a Project Manager, allowing for a bifurcated approach that ensured both the maintenance of the Classic version and the innovative development of Count. It Journey. The implementation of sprints under agile methodologies allowed for constant adaptation to user feedback and the incorporation of new features.
What was the

result?

Technological Impact and Market Expansion
Technologically, the Classic platform experienced a marked improvement in performance, handling challenges with over 3000 concurrent users and overcoming instability issues. The new platform, Journey, built with learnings from Classic and technologies such as Ruby On Rails, AWS, MongoDB, Flutter, and Angular, introduced the ability to log any type of activity, significantly expanding the scope of challenges. From a business standpoint, the Count. It platform has seen a steady increase in the number of users since its inception in 2019. The Journey platform already has active users, promising to take the health and fitness experience to new heights.
